The Diocese of Montenegro and the Seaside in a statement to a local Montenegrin media outlet stressed that the accusations of opaque business practices and separatist tendencies are unfounded, pointing out that it respects Montenegrin laws and remains committed to the unity of the Serbian Orthodox Church. The Diocese stated that its primary mission is, as they say, "the evangelical enlightenment of the people and the renewal of fraternal unity", considering that the nature and organization of the Church, as well as its historical role in Montenegro, are often not understood by the public.
