The Great Message of Archbishop Canada Apostolostranslated

The Great Message of the newly elected Archbishop of Canada, Mr. Apostolos, was held at the Pansept Patriarchal Church of Agios Georgios in Fanari on Thursday, July 24, 2026. The new Archbishop of Canada received the congratulations of the Ecumenical Patriarch, the High Priests and the members of the Patriarchal Court, who wished him a rich and fruitful pastorate.

As you were informed by the "ORTHODOXIA" Agency, on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, the Holy and Holy Synod accepted the submitted resignation from the active service of the Venerable Archbishop of Canada, Mr. Sotiri, to whom the Ecumenical Patriarchate expressed the absolute satisfaction of his many years of conscientious ministry.

Then, following a proposal and suggestion from His Holiness, the Holy and Holy Synod elected by unanimous vote from the three-person constituted new Archbishop of Canada Mr. Apostolos of New Jersey.

After his ministry in the Holy Archdiocese of America, the new Archbishop of Canada has the experience of shepherding the Greek diaspora and this fact seems to have qualified his election to this Province of the Ecumenical Throne.
