Saint Theophanis saves Naoussa from deathtranslated

(Edited by Stelios Koukos)
In the city of Naoussa, a terrible and deadly pestilence (plague) once broke out.
This infectious disease caused great mortality among the inhabitants of the city, killing within a few days more than a third of them.
The people, despairing of the great calamity, began to make all-night prayers and supplications with many tears and lamentations, that they might quickly be freed from this scourge.
The people especially asked for the help of Saint Theophanis who is the patron saint of Naoussa.
When they then paraded his honest chariot in procession around the city, oh wonder! the terrible epidemic disappeared, at once, and did not appear again hereafter, by the grace and intercessions of the Holy One.
