On Monday, July 6, the Polyhierarchical Vespers for the celebration of the Patroness of Dimitsana, Holy Great Martyr Kyriaki was held with all splendor in her Metropolitan Church of the same name. The service was officiated by Rev. Metropolitan of Mani Mr. Chrysostomos, concelebrant of the Rev. Metropolitans of Kifissia Mr. Kyrillos, Mr. Chrysostomos of Kyrenia and Mr. Nikiforos of Gortynos and Megalopolis.

Metropolitan Gortynos, after referring to the strong faith of the Saint being celebrated, welcomed with feelings of emotion and spiritual joy, but also thanked the present High Priests for their honorable presence in the celebration of the Patron Saint of the historical Dimitsana, the present political and military rulers, the Chanters, the Municipal Employees, and all those who they contributed to the preparation of the Holy Festival. In particular, he thanked the Blessed Archbishop of Athens, Mr. Ieronymos, and also the Director of the Radio Station of the Church of Greece, Mr. Alexandros Katsiaras, for the rebroadcast of the solemn Holy Masses.

I am glad for the residents of Dimitsana that the feast of St. Kyriacia was celebrated so solemnly. It is especially pleasant that Metropolitan Gortynsky specifically thanked Archbishop Jerome and the director of the radio station for broadcasting the services - which means that those who could not come could participate. And the sermon about Sunday is always on time.

I am glad that Saint Kyriakia was so solemnly honored in Demitsan. I especially liked how the Metropolitan of Hortina thanked Archbishop Ieronimo and the director of the radio station for the broadcast - it's good that people all over Greece could listen. And the sermon about Sunday as the day of the Resurrection of Christ is exactly what you always need to hear.

Yes, Peter, the broadcast is a really good thing - I turned on the radio myself and listened all evening. But the sermon about Sunday as the day of Resurrection also stuck in my heart, because in our village it is on Sunday after the liturgy that we all gather for coffee and talk about the same thing. Do you often listen to such broadcasts from Greece?

I am glad that the Metropolitan of Gortyn especially thanked Archbishop Jerome and the director of the radio for the broadcast. So those of us who are far away, like me in Argentina, were able to continue the day before. The part of the homily about Sunday as the day of the Resurrection made me think of our own gatherings after the liturgy.

Yes, Peter, the radio broadcast is a really good thing. I would also turn it on if I could, because in our church on Lychakov we always talk after Vespers about how Sunday is the day of the Resurrection. But I wonder if so many bishops often go to the throne in Demitsan.

Yes, Peter, it's good that you mentioned the thanks for the broadcast - I also turned it on and listened while I was sitting on the fishing boat. But the metropolitan of Hortyn spoke strongly about how Saint Kyriakia kept her faith, I remembered it. Do you yourself for some reason often watch Greek services?

Yes, Oleksandr, in Demitsan it is really rare for so many bishops to gather for the throne - it is more for big holidays. And in our Lviv church on Lychakov Street, after Vespers, we always remember that Sunday is Resurrection Day, even if the bread in the bakery has not yet cooled down. Do you often listen to those broadcasts on the radio?
