Victoria: Church leaders meet with State Premiertranslated

The Theophilist Bishops of Melbourne Mr. Kyriakos and Mr. Eumenios of Chora participated, as representatives of the Most Reverend Archbishop of Australia Mr. Makarios, in the regular meeting of the church leaders of Victoria. The meeting was hosted at St. Patrick's Cathedral by the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Melbourne Mr. Peter Comensoli and was attended by representatives of the Catholic, Eastern Orthodox and Pre-Chalcedonian Orthodox Churches, the Anglican Church, as well as various Protestant Churches. The meeting was coordinated by Protopresbyter Fr. Panagiotis Zoumboulis, President of the Council of Churches of Victoria.
Church leaders warmly welcomed the Premier of Victoria, Mr Ben Carroll, who spoke openly about his Christian faith and the importance of prayer in his life. During the meeting, issues related to faith and education, youth welfare and mental health, social cohesion, gambling and addictions, community safety, pastoral ministry in institutions and organizations, as well as the future of the Treaty process were discussed.
