Extraordinary meeting of the BIS on October 22translated

The Perpetual Holy Synod of the Church of Greece of the 170th Synodical Period will convene on Thursday, October 22, 2026, according to information from ope.gr. The BIS met a few days ago for the month of October, however, according to all information, it will meet again, although the reason has not yet been made known.

It is expected to see what the official announcement of the Church of Greece will say.

During the previous meeting of the BIS for the month of October, the Vice-President of the current composition, Metropolitan of Mithymni, Mr. Chrysostomos, submitted his resignation. His Eminence's decision had been accepted with the BIS expressing its satisfaction and thanks for what the great Hierarch offered in favor of the Church of Christ.
