Chania: Ordination of a new Deacon and ordination of a Protopriesttranslated

In an atmosphere of spiritual joy and emotion, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated on the morning of Saturday, September 12, 2026, in the Holy Metropolitan Church of Chania, during which the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Kydonia and Apokoronou, Mr. Titos, ordained Mr. Avraam Vozikoglou as a deacon. In his speech, the prospective deacon, visibly moved, referred to the desire for the Priesthood that accompanied him from his childhood, as well as to the example of his blessed grandfather Fr. Konstantinos from whom, as he mentioned, he was taught the love for the Church and the Holy Altar.

With reasons of gratitude, he commemorated the deceased of his family, his wife Sofia and their two children, his parents and siblings, his relatives and friends as well as all those who stood by him on the way to the Priesthood.

He made special mention of his spiritual father Archimandrite Loupos Koukourikos for his spiritual guidance and support over many years, while he thanked His Holiness for his trust and paternal love.
