The history of the Metropolitan Church of Saints Constantine and Helen of Piraeus (VIDEO)translated

Fr. Ioannis Panagiotou, head of the Holy Metropolitan Church of Agios Constantine and Helen of Piraeus, talks to Dimitris Stroumbakos about the history of the church. The foundation of the church took place on July 2, 1878. Its construction was linked to the great population and economic growth of Piraeus during the 19th century and the need to create a large church for the growing needs of the residents. The reconstruction work was completed in 1882, while the inauguration of the church took place in 1887.
