Bigorski Monastery for Ecumenical Patriarch: We must not forget the one who first opened the door to the blessed communiontranslated

Special reference to the contribution of the Mother Church and the Ecumenical Patriarch, Mr. Bartholomew in the restoration of communion between the Archdiocese of Ahridos and the rest of the Orthodox Churches, the Holy Forerunner-Bigorski Monastery makes an announcement on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the election and enthronement of His Holiness.  The historic Monastery participates in the prayerful celebrations on the occasion of the great and publicly expresses simply a humble and sincere act of recognition of the great works of the ministry of this humble Shepherd.

"However, for us, the children of the ancient and glorious Archdiocese of Ahridos, this anniversary has a particularly deep, personal and historical significance. With immense gratitude and reverence we recall to our memory the historic May 9, 2022 — and how would it be possible or permissible to forget it? — when finally, after long decades of painful ecclesiastical isolation and years of struggles, thanks to the paternal care and wisdom of His Holiness and by the decision of the Holy and Holy Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, our ecclesiastical Hierarchy, the holy Clergy and the faithful people were accepted into Eucharistic communion.
