Meeting of the Metropolitan of Volokolamsk with the Metropolitan of Corfu in Moscowtranslated

The President of the Department of External Ecclesiastical Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan of Volokolamsk, Mr. Antonio met today, Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at the headquarters of the Department, the Metropolitan of Corfu, Paxos and Diapontian Islands, Mr. Nektarios, who has been in Moscow since Monday (17/8), accompanying the Right Hand of the Pansept relict of the Saint and miracle worker Spyridon at the invitation of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia etc. Cyril and following the approval, normal permission and blessing of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece.

Metropolitan Mr. Antonios welcomed Metropolitan Mr. Nektarios and expressed his thanks for the transfer of the Right Hand of Saint Spyridon to Russia, noting the great spiritual joy offered to the faithful of the Russian Orthodox Church by the possibility of worshiping the holy relic, which is kept in Corfu.
