Opening of the School of Parents of the Holy Metropolis of Corinth: "House of healing - Illness, health and family".translated

The Holy Diocese of Corinth organizes the School of Parents for the year 2026-2027, entitled "House of healing" and centering on illness, health and the family. Parental responsibility needs support, knowledge and opportunities for meaningful dialogue. The School of Parents offers a meeting place, where the family's concerns are heard and difficult questions are approached with respect and distinction. With this year's theme, it supports parents so that, even in trials, the home becomes a place of care, trust and hope for every member of it.

Through eight meetings, from October 2026 to May 2027, clergy, academics and mental health experts will approach issues that touch deeply on family life: pain, child illness, bereavement, the test of relationships, practical love and child rearing.

The first meeting will take place on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 7:30 p.m., in the Krokidio Hall, Krokida 2 in Corinth, with the speaker, Nun Paracletis, Gerontissa of the Skete of Saint Mary Magdalene Letis Lagada and person-centered and experiential psychotherapist, on the topic "Pain and the...

I'm glad they chose the theme of the child's pain and illness right from the first meeting. It's a tough but real subject - we as parents often go through it without knowing how to talk about it as a family. I'll try to come on October 10th, maybe I'll find out how to make the house a place of comfort, not just worry.
