The Office of the Orthodox Church despite the European Union at the event "Christian Values in Europe"translated

On Wednesday, September 30, 2026, an event was held at the European Parliament on the role of Christian values in Europe within the framework of Article 17 of the Treaty of Lisbon. The event was organized by His Excellency MEP Mr. Dimitrios Tsiodras in collaboration with the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of Orthodoxy and the Inter-Party Group of the European Parliament for Freedom of Religion, Belief and Conscience.
At the start of the event, he addressed a greeting on behalf of His Eminence Metropolitan of Belgium Mr. Athenagoros, President of the Committee of Representatives of the Orthodox Churches outside the European Union (CROCEU), who due to his commitments could not attend, His Eminence Archimandrite Mr. Emilianos Hatziilvasiou, General Hierarchical Commissioner of the Holy Metropolis and General Secretary of the Office of the Orthodox Church despite the European Union.
