Vigil of Saint Georgios Karslides in Agia Triada Glyfadatranslated

On Tuesday, November 3, 2026, from 21:00 to 00:30, a Holy Vigil will be held at the Holy Trinity Cathedral of Glyfada, in honor of Saint Georgios Karslides, in Drama, a prominent figure of modern Orthodox hagiology, with deep roots in Pontic Hellenism. Saint George Karslides, the Confessor, was born in Pontus and went through a life full of trials, persecutions and deprivations, remaining steadfast in his faith in Christ. He settled in Drama, where with his ascetic life, prayer, humility and love for his fellow man he emerged as a spiritual support for many believers.

The memory of Osios is a special point of reference for Pontic Hellenism, as the Orthodox spiritual tradition, historical memory and testimony of faith meet in his person.

The Holy Vigil will offer the faithful the opportunity to participate in common prayer and veneration of the Saint, asking for his embassies and drawing spiritual strength from the example of his life.
