Bi-priestly Divine Liturgy for the Feast of the Recollection of the Holy Relic of Saint Nektarios in Heraklion, Atticatranslated

The solemn memory of the Repatriation of the Holy Relic of our Holy Father Nektarios, Bishop of Pentapolis, the Miracle Worker, was celebrated with due splendor in the celebratory Church of the same name in Heraklion, Attica. On the day of the feast, on the morning of Thursday, September 3, 2026, a Biarchic Divine Liturgy was held, presided over by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Ioannina, Mr. Maximos, and concelebrated by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Nea Ionia, Philadelphia, Heraklion and Chalcedon, Mr. Gavriel, flanked by clergy of the Holy Metropolis.

The Divine Liturgy was attended by members of the Municipal Council of the Municipality of Heraklion Attica, representatives of the city's bodies and a large number of believers, who came reverently to participate in the Eucharistic Assembly and worship the holy icon and the fragment of the holy relic of Agios Nektarios, which is kept as a valuable spiritual treasure in the Holy Church.

The divine word was preached by the foreman of the Eucharistic Synagogue, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Ioannina Mr. Maximos, who referred to the holy life and unshakable faith of Saint Nektarios, pointing out his deep desire and unfeigned love for Christ.…
