Diocese of Accra: Ordinations and Appointmentstranslated

With the blessing of His Beatitude the Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and all Africa Mr. Theodore II and by decision of His Eminence Metropolitan of Accra Mr. Daniel, the following administrative decisions are announced: 1. The ordination to Eldership of the two Deacons of the Holy Metropolis of Accra in Ghana, Archdeacon Fr. Dimitrios Abegya and Deacon Fr. Dionysios Edugyan Abeka, is decided.

The ordinations will take place as follows:

- of Father Dimitrios on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at the Cathedral Church of the Transfiguration of Christ the Savior, Accra,

- of Fr. Dionysios on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at the Holy Church of Saints Charalambous and Georgios Adeiso.

From 1 August 2026:

- Father Dimitrios is appointed Vicar of the Parish of Agios Apostolos Iakovos of Adelfotheos Gomoa Afransi.

- Father Dionysios is appointed Vicar of the Parishes of Saint Charalambous and George Adeiso and Saint Thomas the Apostle Domeabra.

2. The ordination to Deacon of Mr. Emmanuel Agyekum, from Assumption Parish Kasoa (Accra), as well as his appointment as Deacon in the same Parish, is decided.

3. His Eminence Archimandrite Father Aedesios Mukeke Mabedi is appointed...

It is good to see that the ordinations are continuing in Ghana. I find it particularly interesting that Father Dimitrije will be appointed parish priest in Gomoa Afransa from August, and Father Dionysius will lead two parishes at once. May the Lord help them in their ministry.

It’s good that locals are ordained - Abegya, Edugyan Abeka, and Agyekum. I wonder how Father Dimitri will cope in Gomoa Afransi from August, and Dionysius will pull two enoria at once. God help them.

It's good they're ordaining local men like Abegya, Edugyan Abeka, and Agyekum. I noticed Father Dimitrios gets assigned to St. James in Gomoa Afransi right after his July 19 ordination, while Father Dionysios will handle two parishes at once starting August 1. May the Lord strengthen them both.

It is good that they are ordaining local people from Ghana like Abegya and Edugyan Abeka. I find it interesting that right after July 26, Father Dionysius will lead two parishes at the same time, Adeiso and Domeabra. May the Lord give them strength in their service.
