Archbishop of America Elpidophoros visited the Metropolitan Church of Saint John the Theologian in Tenafly, New Jerseytranslated

At the Metropolitan Church of Saint John the Theologian, in Tenafly, New Jersey, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated on Sunday, September 27, 2026, the First Sunday of Luke, by the Most Reverend Archbishop of America Mr. Elpidophoros. As he explained, Peter and his companions had fished all night without success. However, when Christ urged them to cast down the nets again, Peter trusted Him and obeyed. In this decision, the Archbishop pointed out, what faith means is revealed: to trust God's word even when circumstances seem to tell us otherwise. So Peter's response resulted in the miraculous catch and then his calling as an Apostle.
