With the Patriarch of Antioch, Mr. John I met on Friday, October 30, 2026, the Metropolitan of Volokolamsk Mr. Antonios, President of the Department of External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate. The Patriarch of Antioch warmly welcomed Metropolitan Volokolamsk to the Patriarchal Monastery of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos in Balamad, and during the long conversation, the situation of Christians in the Middle East and issues of inter-church relations were discussed.

Archpriest Nikolaos Balasov, Advisor to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, also participated in the meeting.
