Chrysostomos of Eleftheroupolis: May the high spirit of the brave fighters inspire the souls of the younger generations of Greekstranslated

With the appropriate ecclesiastical splendor and national pride, the Feast of the Holy Sepulcher of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the National Anniversary of October 28, 1940 were celebrated in the Holy Metropolis of Eleftheroupoli, centered on the city of Eleftheroupoli, where the established anniversary events took place. On the morning of Wednesday, October 28, 2026, the Divine Liturgy was held in the Holy Cathedral of Agios Eleftherios and then the official Doxology for the heroic Epic of 1940, presided over by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Eleftheroupolis Mr. Chrysostomos, in the presence of representatives of the political and military authorities, the educational community and a large number of believers.

The ceremony of the day was delivered by the teacher of Eleftheroupolis High School, Mr. Petros Touretzoglou, who referred to the heroic Epic of 1940, highlighting the unity, self-sacrifice and high spirit of the Greeks, while underlining the duty of the younger generations to keep alive the historical memory and the timeless values ​​of freedom and national dignity.
