SAINT THOMAS THE APOSTLE: The ardent missionary of the Indiestranslated

Among the sept choreia of the Lord's twelve disciples is also counted the holy apostle Thomas, the so-called Didymos, honored on October 6th. Thomas was born in Judea to poor parents and worked as a fisherman. From an early age he devoted himself to the study of the Word of God which, combined with his good will, helped him to love Jesus Christ and become a faithful and devoted disciple and follower of Him. At this point it is worth mentioning, that in the intention of the Jews to kill the Lord, Thomas also urged the other disciples to cross themselves with the Savior and Redeemer Christ rather than stay alive, without His guidance and teaching.

In addition, the apostle Thomas was the only one of the apostles, who was credited with seeing the glorious Metastasis of the Blessed Virgin Mary into the Heavens, which took place in 47 AD.
