And life goes on… and the family grows!translated

A particularly touching and blessed day was experienced by the family of St. George's Cathedral, Stockholm, last Sunday, October 4, 2026, with the celebration of the fortieth of three infants, according to the sacred tradition of the Eastern Orthodox Church. Parents came to the church to offer their children to God and receive the blessing of the Church.

The service was performed by Rev. Metropolitan of Sweden Mr. Cleopas with Rev. Protopresbyter Mr. Georgios Arvanitidis, Vicar of the Parish of Saints Demetriou and Nestor, in Erebro, Sweden.

The presence of the three youngest members of our spiritual family is a blessing from God and that our Church in Scandinavia continues to grow and renew itself.

It is everyone's wish and prayer that these children do not come to the Church only at their fortieth birthday and baptism, but that they grow up in its liturgical and spiritual life.

Their presence is at the same time an invitation to responsibility for all of us, so that we take care with love and consistency for their spiritual training, always keeping in mind the words of the Lord: "Let the children come to me"!
