October 9: Saint James the Apostle of Alphaeus is celebratedtranslated

Today, October 9, the Church commemorates the apostle James, son of Alphaeus and brother of the evangelist Matthew, Patriarch Abraham the righteous and Lot his nephew, as well as Saint Andronikos and his wife Athanasius.

Apostle James the Alphaeus or Mikros The holy apostles are the most chosen choir of the saints of our Church, because they were chosen by our Lord Jesus Christ to become his partners on earth in His redemptive work and then his successors, announcing the Gospel of salvation to the ends of the world.
One of the devoted disciples was also Jacob the so-called Alphaeus, or little, to distinguish him from the other disciple, Jacob of Zebedaeus.
