Peace and justice are still a demand for Cyprus, states, among others, the Most Reverend Archbishop of America Mr. Elpidophoros in his statement, on the occasion of the anniversary of the Turkish invasion of Cyprus. "On today's sad anniversary, we remember the illegal Turkish invasion of Cyprus and the occupation that began 52 years ago. Peace and justice are still an issue for Cyprus. We reaffirm our unwavering solidarity with Cyprus and its people. We continue to pray and work for a just, peaceful and sustainable solution, which will lead to the reunification of the island," he wrote in an Instagram post.

Амин, нека Господ да даде мир и правда за Кипар. 52 години окупација се преголема мака за народот таму, се сеќавам како го следевме тоа на вестите. Да се моли и работи за обединување, како што вели Архиепископот.

Амин, Александар. Се сеќавам и јас како во седумдесеттите го гледавме тоа на црно-белата телевизија кај дома, а татко ми само молчеше и вртеше глава. Добро што Архиепископот го кажа јасно – молитва и работа за обединување, не само зборови. Што мислиш, дали сега има некаква надеж по толку години?

Амин, Александар. Се сеќавам како во осумдесеттите во кујната кај баба ми го слушавме радио и таа велеше „Боже, дај им мир на тие луѓе“. Добро што Архиепископот не остава само на зборови, туку споменува и работа. Мислиш дека обединувањето може да почне од некој мал чекор сега?
