Kidonias Titos: The Saints Are Luminous Signs and Beacons in the Churchtranslated

With due brilliance and within the unique natural setting of the Cave Holy Church of Saint Eustathius, on the evening of Saturday, September 19, 2026, the Vespers service concluded at the Monastery of Kambani Akrotiri in Akrotiri, celebrating the memory of the glorious Great Martyr Saint Eustathius, his pious wife Theopiste, and their children Agape and Theopiste. The Hierarchical Assembly was led by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Kydonias and Apokoronas Titos, accompanied by clergy from the Hierarchal See, with a large number of devout Christians in attendance.

In his homily, the Most Reverend characterized this day as particularly blessed, as during the Divine Liturgy three great events were celebrated: the Lord's Resurrection Day, the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross and the Memory of Saint Eustathius and his family.

Referring to the Lord’s word “Whoever wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me,” he emphasized that Christ does not force anyone to follow Him, but freely calls every person to renounce self-love, raise their personal cross, and walk the path of salvation.
