Ordination of a Deacon on the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Thessalonikitranslated

On Monday, September 14, the day on which our Church brilliantly celebrates the Elevation of the Holy and Life-giving Cross, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Thessaloniki, Mr. Philotheos, officiated at the Orthros procession and presided over the High Priestly Divine Liturgy at the Pilgrimage Church of Agios Dimitrios - Poliuchou. During the Eucharistic Assembly, His Eminence performed the ordination to the ministry of the venerable Mr. Themistoklis Stergiou, married, graduate of the Theological School of the Athens University of Athens, who until today served as cantor in the Parish Church of Agios Prophet Ilios Pylaia.
