Brilliant celebration of Saint Theodora of Vasta Megalopolistranslated

During the two days of September 10 and 11, the holy memory of the Holy and glorious Holy Martyr Theodora of Vasta was celebrated with particular splendor, rejoicing and the participation of a multitude of pious pilgrims, at her homonymous Holy Pilgrimage in Vasta Megalopolis.

On the afternoon of Thursday, September 10, the Grand Solemn High Priestly Vespers was held, presided over by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Halkidos, Istiaia and the Northern Sporades, Mr. Chrysostomos, and concelebrated by the local Metropolitan, Mr. Nikiforos, with the participation of Clergy, Superior of the General Hierarchal Commissioner and Vice President of the Administration Committee of the Holy Pilgrimage of the University of Archim. Iosif Angelidis, representatives of the local authorities, led by the Mayor of Megalopolis, Mr. Kon/no Michopoulos, and numerous believers, who came from Arcadia, Messinia and many other regions, to honor the miraculous Saint.

During his address, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Gortynos and Megalopolis referred, briefly, to the ascetic state, patience in the face of slander and the martyrdom of Saint Theodora. He pointed out that her wonderful church, the trees that tower over its roof...
