With due ecclesiastical splendor and sanctity, the beginning of Indictus (the new ecclesiastical year) as well as the memory of Saint Simeon of Stylitos was celebrated in the Holy Metropolis of Aetolia and Acarnania. The liturgical events began on the afternoon of Monday, August 31, 2026, where the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Aetolia and Acarnania, Mr. Damaskinos officiated at the Solemn Vespers at the solemn Church of Saint Symeon of Stylitos, in Magoula Neochorio.
The celebration culminated in the morning of the main day, Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
