Archimandrite Seraphim Dimitriou: The "silver jubilee" of his priesthood and the end of personal mourningtranslated

With the completion of 25 years since his ordination as an elder, the President of the Ecclesiastical Council of the Holy Church of Agia Marina in Heliopolis, Archimandrite Seraphim Demetriou, and in view of the feast of the Dormition and Transfiguration of the Virgin Mary, called a pause in personal mourning, for the suicide, three months ago in Heliopolis, of the two 17-year-old girls.
With three Divine Liturgies, which were held in three churches of Heliopolis, each with a different prayer request, he referred to God in Eucharist for the silver jubilee of his priesthood and concluded the traditional mourning at his appearance, proclaiming that the transition of the Virgin Mary from death to life, made her the Mother of life, "from death redeemed our souls".
On Wednesday, August 12, 2026, in the church of Saints Constantine and Helen of Heliopolis, exactly 25 years from that Sunday on which the canonized Christodoulos, Archbishop of Athens, handed over the legacy to the newly ordained Seraphim, the Metropolitan of Bresthenes Theoklitos, supported by the archimandrite Seraphim and the deacon Andreas, performed the Divine Liturgy.
