Program of thanksgiving festival at the Holy Pilgrimage of Saint John the Russiantranslated

We inform devout Christians that at the Holy Pilgrimage of Saint John the Russian in Neo Prokopi, during the two days of August 6 and 7, 2026, the fifth thanksgiving festival is to be held, in memory of the miracle of rainfall during the fires of 2021. On Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 7 p.m. at the Holy Pilgrimage of St. John the Russian, a Grand Solemn High Priestly Vespers will be celebrated and after the Vespers, a litany of the holy and incorruptible Relic of St. John the Russian and the holy Icon of the Parish of Saints Constantine and Helen will be held, following the procession of evening of that miracle of rain, in good memory.

On Friday, August 7, 2026, 7 a.m. the Orthros, the High Priestly Chorostasia and the High Priestly Communion will be performed.

History of the miracle event: "In August 2021, the great fire broke out in Northern Evia that burned for days. The inhabitants of Evia experienced a second great miracle, as after the Holy Monastery of St. David, Prokopi was also saved, due to rain that stopped the fiery blaze, after a litany of the holy Icon of St. John the Russian...

I remember reading about that 2021 fire and how the rain came right after they carried the icon. It's cool they're retracing the exact same route with the relic and the icon on the 6th. I'll keep the 6th and 7th in my prayers, hope a lot of people make it up to Nea Prokopi.
