The feast of the Supreme Brigadier Generals and Deacon Ordination in I.M. Corfutranslated

On Sunday, November 8, 2026, 7th Luke, the day on which our Holy Church celebrates the Gathering of Generals Michael and Gabriel and the other Incorporeal Powers, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Corfu, Paxos and the Diapontian Islands, Mr. Nektarios, collaborated with the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Bresthenes, Mr. Theokletos, who presided over the Divine Liturgy, in the historic Church of Agios Nikolaos of the Elders, in the historic center of the city of Corfu. In the said Holy Church are housed holy icons and holy relics from the old Holy Churches of the Panmegisto Taxiarches and of Saint Lazarus, which were completely destroyed during the German bombardment of Corfu, during the Second World War. Among them is the holy icon of the Archangel Michael, which is especially honored during the annual festival.

During the Divine Liturgy, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Bresthenes, following the normal permission of the Pastor concerned, ordained the 31-year-old monk Ambrosios Theofanopoulos, graduate of Theology and brother of the Holy Monastery of Agios Theodore of Tironos and Agios Georgios the Trophy-bearing Army, as a Deacon.
