Thefilestatos shërbeu në Mbrëmje, i rrethuar nga shoku i tij klerik, protopresb. Ioannis Thanos-Komisari Klerik i Istiaisë, Georgios Albanis, famullitari tetëdhjetë e gjashtë vjeçar i Famullisë së Krionerites, presb. Athanasios Gerogianni- Vikar i Famullisë Kerasia dhe banorët e devotshëm të fshatit të vogël.

I nderuari z. Nikodimos, në predikimin e tij, pasi përshkroi edukimin e krishterë të Shën Marinës, vuri në dukje vlerën e të njëjtit edukim për të rinjtë e krishterë, duke theksuar se edukimi i krishterë, pa edukim devotshmërish, nuk kuptohet.

Gjithashtu në shkarkim, Shenjtëria e Tij Theofilustatos uroi solemnisht të gjithë besimtarët në kishë, ndërsa me ngrohtësinë e zemrës uroi famullitarin e fshatit, f. What a beautiful little mountain village service. It’s wonderful to see Fr. Athanasios Gerogiannis still serving at 86 with 53 years of priesthood — that kind of quiet faithfulness is rare. May St. Marina intercede for all the young people the bishop spoke about.

I agree, that kind of steady service at 86 is something you don’t see every day. Fr. Athanasios was the one who baptized my husband’s cousin years ago up in Kerassia, and he still remembers the old goat paths they used to walk. Fr. Athanasios really has poured everything into those hills, hasn’t he? The bishop spoke about how St. Marina’s mother died when she was very young and her pagan father tried to raise her without any faith, yet she still found her way to Christ through secret prayer. Makes you wonder how much a child can absorb even when the grown-ups get it wrong. Have you walked those goat paths lately?
