Registrations have begun at the School of Byzantine Ecclesiastical Music "Agios Andreas" of the Diocese of Nea Smyrna for students from the age of 12 and over. The course lasts five years and a degree recognized by the State (Ministry of Culture) is granted.

Those interested can request information from the School's office, Agios Andreou 14, Nea Smyrni (next to the Panionion stadium) and by calling 210 93 31 667 during the School's opening hours (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 6-8 p.m.).

I remember going with my daughter years ago to a similar school in Damascus, she started when she was 14. Nice that they give a state diploma after five years, I will tell my daughter-in-law about her granddaughter who is 15 now. Good news. Sarah's daughter is 13 years old and fits exactly the age they say. I would go for a walk to Agios Andreou 14 on Monday afternoon to see what the lesson is like, because I know the Panionio stadium well from my childhood. I will also call 210 93 31 667 to ask about the program.
