Beginning of the academic year at the Institute of Orthodox Theology "Apostolos Pavlos" in Brusselstranslated

Brussels, September 15, 2026 – The Institute of Orthodox Theology "Apostolos Pavlos" officially celebrated the start of the new academic year 2026-2027, on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at the Ambiorix Orthodox Center in Brussels, in the presence of the Theophilist Bishop Joachim of Apollonia, members of the clergy, professors, students and numerous guests.

The event began with a short Consecration ceremony, presided over by His Eminence Metropolitan Athenagoras of Belgium, Exarch of the Netherlands and Luxembourg. In his opening greeting, the Metropolitan recalled the mission of the Institute, which since 2013 has been continuing the work of Orthodox theological education in Brussels. Since its establishment, the Institute has set as its goal not only to contribute to the training of teachers of Orthodox religion, clergy, catechists and church officials, but also to be a place of meeting and dialogue between Orthodoxy and modern society, "between faith and science, between Revelation and research".
