As one of the most urgent challenges that touches the collective memory of the peoples and the fundamental issues of international law, security and justice, the Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni raised the protection of cultural heritage in her speech at the parallel action related to the protection and repatriation of cultural goods, in the context of the High Level Week of the United Nations General Assembly. The action took place with the participation of the Permanent Representations and Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Greece and Italy, as well as the European Public Law Organization (EPLO).

Greece's strategic position is the principle that cultural heritage cannot be the object of illegal trafficking or exploitation. The repatriations that have already been recorded highlight the path of cooperation and understanding, a model for reaching an agreement with Britain and the reunification of the Parthenon Sculptures.
