Broadcasting messages of history, culture, sports, volunteerism, the "86th Arcadias" were held in Rethymno, on the weekend of October 30 and November 1, 2026, in memory of the holocaust of the Holy Monastery of Arkadiou. Among the sporting and cultural events, the historical Half Marathon "Arkadios Dromos" of 22.4 km, starting from the central gate of the Holy Monastery of Arkadiou and finishing at the Municipal Stadium of Sochora, stood out on Sunday, November 1st. Due to adverse weather conditions and heavy rain, the student road races did not take place. Also, the program included children's roller skating competitions on Saturday 1 November at Rollercity Sports Arena Rethymno.

More than 650 sportsmen and women participated in the 22.4 km Half Marathon, the 6 km popular race and the Cretan volley.

The "86th Arcadia" was organized by the Region of Crete in collaboration with the Municipality of Rethymno, the Heads of Physical Education of Primary and Secondary Education, the Association of Rethymnon Health Runners and in collaboration with the Cultural Associations of the Arcadios Dromos.
