Blessing of the fruits of the earth in the unique Rotunda of Cretetranslated

In one of the oldest Churches of Crete, the Holy Church of Michael the Archangel, Rotunda, Diocese of Kissamos (6th century), seat of the Episcopate of the Holy National Martyr Melchizedek, Bishop of Kissamos and Selinos, Vespers and the Holy Prayer of the Virgin Mary were celebrated, officiated by Rev. Metropolitan Kissamos and Selinos Mr. Amfilochiou. The Holy Prayer was followed by the blessing of the fruits of the earth, in the multitude of offerings (fruits, grapes, fruit, etc.) which the Parishes of the Eastern Region of Kissamos, residents of the Diocese as well as individuals offered, for blessing, which were distributed to the hundreds of pilgrims who had flooded the forecourt areas of the holy pilgrimage.

In his short speech Rev. Pastor Mr. Amfilochios noted: "Preparing the 'summer Easter', in the glow of this incomparable light of the holiday, in these August days, this is how we feel Her and this is how we need Her, this is how we need our Virgin Mary. Devoted to Her Son for us. Indefatigable Iketida and Ambassador to the throne of Her Child for our human needs. ...Pure hearts are waiting for us to give back to Her in this August festival of hers...
