The feast of Agios Gerasimos of Karystostranslated

With splendor the city of Karystos honored its native Saint Gerasimos of Euboea, a born ascetic of Karystos, who was a disciple of Saint Gregory of Sinai and his co-practitioner, imitating the spiritual exercise and prayer as he deserved to be the model of the Sinaitic monks. On Sunday, August 2, on the holy memory of Saint Gerasimos, the High Priestly Divine Liturgy took place in the cathedral church of Agios Nikolaos, in which the Styro native, His Eminence Metropolitan of Irinoupolis (of the Ecumenical Patriarchate), Mr. Nikandros, presided.
Collaborating with His Eminence were Protopr. Petros Krisilias, vicar of the holy temple and Deacon Theodoros Peppas.
In his speech, His Eminence Metropolitan Mr. Nikandros analyzed the apolytypic of Saint Gerasimos whose holy memory is honored in his place of origin Karystos and with the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Karystia and Skyros Mr. Seraphim, the local annual holiday was established in the city of Karystos.
Finally, His Eminence Mr. Nikandros conveyed the paternal and festive wishes of His Eminence Metropolitan of Karystia and Skyros, Mr. Seraphim, in view of the holiday.
