The Feast of Saint James the Local and the Dedication of the Sisters of the Sisterhood "Tabitha"translated

On November 1, 2026, the Holy Metropolis of Kastoria celebrated the memory of its local Saint, the Holy Martyr James the Local, and his disciples, Dionysius the Deacon and James, as well as the memory of the Holy and Miracle-Working Unmercenaries Cosmas and Damian. During the liturgical service, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Kastoria, Kallinikos, celebrated the Divine Liturgy, with the assistance of Archimandrite Stephen Skhnia and Deacon Nikodim Probatidis of the Holy Metropolis. During the Divine Liturgy, sacred relics of the Holy Martyr James the Local were placed on the altar.
In his sermon, drawing from the Gospel reading of the parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus, he spoke about the life after death, judgment, and eternity. He emphasized that these realities are experienced by the Saints, while they are unknown to the Christian world of today that is worldly.
At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, the Eucharist was celebrated, which was offered by the Polytechnic Society of Kastoria in honor of their patrons, Saints Terentius and Neonilla. Before the dismissal, the President of the Society, George Gitsos, spoke.
