A pastoral visit to the Holy Diocese of Melbourne will be made by the Most Reverend Archbishop of Australia Mr. Makarios in view of the celebration of the great Mother of God feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. On the eve, Friday 14 August 2026, His Holiness will visit the Holy Church of the Assumption in Geelong and officiate at the Solemn High Priestly Vespers (from 6.30 pm).

On the day of the feast, Saturday 15 August, he will preside over Orthros and preside over the Solemn Multi-priestly Divine Liturgy at the Holy Church of the Assumption in North Altona, Melbourne (from 7 am).
