The lower hollow of the Great Theater of Ancient Nikopolis is being restoredtranslated

The Ministry of Culture is proceeding with the restoration of the lower cavern of the Great Theater of Ancient Nikopolis, after the maturity of the restoration study of the specific part of the monument. The operation is part of the third phase of the protection, maintenance and restoration project of the Great Theatre, which concerns the supply and installation of limestone seats in the lower hollow and marble slabs for the floor of the orchestra. The project is financed by the Regional Operational Program "Epirus 2021-2027", and is the continuation of the works that have been completed, in the context of the second phase of the project funded by the "Epirus 2014-2020" PEP.

The Minister of Culture Lina Mendoni stated: "The Great Theater of Ancient Nicopolis, one of the most important public buildings of the Roman city and a leading monument of Epirus, is a key pillar of our overall planning for the promotion of Nicopolis, an archaeological site of exceptional historical and cultural value.
