With satisfaction, the Holy Metropolis of Serres and Nigritis welcomes the historic agreement for the return of part of the sacred relics of the Church of Serres, which, 109 years ago, were forcibly removed from the place of their creation, origin, honor and respect.

The return of these sacred treasures of the Orthodox faith, our Church, our culture and our historical tradition and memory is a particularly important event for our local Church and the pious people of Serres, but also for our entire nation.

The Church of Serres and Nigritis expresses its sincere thanks to the Greek Government for its decisive and always valuable effort for the success of this great collective effort of our local Church, the rulers and the entire people of Serrai.
