La fête du miracle d'Agia Eufimia à N. Chalcedontraduit

Solennellement et avec la splendeur qui lui est due, la fête de la mémoire du miracle de sainte Glorieuse Grande Martyre Euphémie a été célébrée au cours du IVe Synode œcuménique (451) dans la Sainte Église éponyme de N. Chalcédoine. Le vendredi 10 juillet 2026 ont eu lieu les grandes Vêpres sacerdotales solennelles de la fête, présidées par le Très Révérend Métropolite d'Énée M. Makarios et avec la participation d'une multitude de membres du clergé.

Le discours divin a été prêché par Mgr le métropolite Makarios, qui a évoqué la vie martyre de sainte Euphémie, ainsi que l'importance du miracle accompli lors du IVe Synode œcuménique de Chalcédoine.

Plus tôt, dans le cadre de la célébration, le métropolite M. Makarios, en présence du saint clergé, a accueilli la Sainte Relique d'Osia Matrone d'Aommatos dans les propylées de la Sainte Église, qui a ensuite été placée en prosternation pour la bénédiction et la sanctification des fidèles.

Le jour principal de la fête, le samedi 11 juillet, le très révérend métropolite de Nea Ionia, Philadelphie, Héraklion et Chalkidon, M. Gavriil, a officié au service Orthro puis a célébré la Divine Liturgie solennelle, flanqué du clergé des deux localités...

Благодарам за веста. Убаво е што го донесоа и лешот на Св. Матрона пред храмот, народот сигурно се собрал многу за да се поклони. Ја знам Св. Евфимија од Четвртиот собор, секогаш ми е чудно како точно го решила спорот со томот.

Спасибо за новость. Хорошо, что привезли мощи святой Матроны, многие наверняка пришли поклониться. А чудо святой Евфимии на Четвёртом Соборе и правда всегда поражает — как простой том с православным исповеданием лёг ей в руки.

Thanks for sharing this. Interesting they brought the relic of St. Matrona right to the church doors for veneration before the services — must have drawn a good crowd. The way the miracle at Chalcedon is described always sticks with me too, how that Orthodox tome ended up in her hands.

The relic of St. Matrona really did draw quite a crowd; I saw families lined up from the doors all the way to the street. The Chalcedon miracle stays with me too, especially how the Orthodox definition landed in her right hand while the heretical one was at her feet. Yes, that line of families waiting for St. Matrona’s relic went right out to the footpath — I brought my girls along and they were impressed how quiet everyone stayed. The Chalcedon miracle still gives me goosebumps too, especially the scroll ending up in her right hand. Never made it to the old church in Chalcedon itself; what’s it like these days?

The queue for St Matrona’s relic really was that long — I stood in it myself for nearly an hour with my knitting bag and still felt peaceful. The Chalcedon miracle always moves me too, especially how the scroll ended up in her right hand after all those debates. The old church in Chalcedon is still standing but quite run-down now; last I heard they’re trying to restore the roof.
