HIERARCHY 2026: Completes its work with the pending question of the ordination of Asterius and debate on the election of Assistant Bishopstranslated

With the proposal of the Metropolitan of Nea Smyrna, Mr. Simeon, on the subject of "The pending issue of the Episcopal ordination of the elected Bishop Asterios, Mr. Christodoulou Kotsifis" as well as a discussion on the issue of the election of Assistants, the Regular Convocation of the Holy Synod of the Hierarchy of the Church of Greece for the year 2026 is concluded today.  Regarding the case of the ordination of Bishop-elect Asterios - which has been pending for two years - after the suggestion of Metropolitan Mr. Simeon, a discussion will follow on it and a decision will be made.
