On Sunday, July 26, 2026, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Polyanis and Kilkisios Mr. Bartholomeos presided over the Mystery of the Holy Eucharist in the Solemn Church of Saints Paraskevi and Nicholas in the village of Kristoni Kilkis, which this year celebrates its 100th anniversary.

The Gospel passage which was heard from the Gospel of the Apostle and Evangelist Matthew, was about the multiplication of the 5 loaves and the 2 fish, to satisfy 5,000 men together with the women and children. Our Church sees in this miracle the prototype of the "Bread of life", the spiritual food, which whoever receives it lives eternally without fear of death.

This bread is the Son of God Himself, who offered His Body and Blood on Golgotha ​​as food and drink, for the life and salvation of the world. Saint Great Martyr Paraskevi, who is honored today, loved the Lord and with the martyrdom of blood as a supreme offering of love to Christ lives and offers the miracle of physical and spiritual sight to the world.
