Vespers of the Transfiguration in Corfutranslated

On the evening of Wednesday, August 5, 2026, the eve of the feast of the Transfiguration of our Lord and God and Savior Jesus Christ, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Corfu, Paxos and the Diapontian Islands, Mr. Nektarios, went to the celebrating Holy Monastery of Pantokratoros Kamarela, in the Holy Servants of North Corfu, where he celebrated and spoke during the solemn Vespers of the holiday. In the Holy Monastery lives a small sisterhood of women under the spiritual guidance of the respected Abbess, Nun Pelagia Grammenou. The celebratory Vespers was attended by clergy from the wider area, including the Panosiology Archimandrite Arsenios Peppes, Abbot of the Immaculate Conception of Blacherna Skriperos and spiritual of the brotherhood, while a large number of pious believers came to celebrate this great Despotic holiday and worship at the Holy Monastery.
His Holiness, during his speech, addressing the dense congregation, initially connected the readings from the book of Kings from the solemn evening with the event of the Divine Transfiguration, emphasizing that every time he hears the specific passages, his mind goes up to Mount Sinai and Mount Tabor.
