Event by UNESCO in Nafplio for the World Day of Peacetranslated

Event for the World Day of Peace, held by UNESCO - Hellenic National Committee for UNESCO, in collaboration with the association of Pontian Argolis "Panagia Sumela" in Syntagma Square in Nafplion, Saturday 19 September 2026. Honored country for 2026 is Armenia which participated with the Armenian dance group "Avetis Dance 2013".

The Ambassador of Armenia in Athens, Mr. Tigran Mkrtchyan, attended the event and addressed a greeting, while the Dance Team of the Pontian Association of N. Argolis "Panagia Soumela", the Municipal Choir of Nafplion under the direction of chief musician Theodosis Antoniadis and the Actor Panagiotis Gourmoulis participated.

It was a special evening where the Pontic and Armenian cultures met through music, dance and tradition, sending a timeless message of Peace, Friendship and Fellowship of peoples.
