September 24: Saint Thekla celebratestranslated

Today our Church honors the memory of the Great Martyr Thekla and Saint Silouanos. Thekla lived during the time of the Apostles. Listening to the Apostle Paul, he decided to follow Christianity. He emerged as a teacher and apostle of the Gospel. Because of her action, she was taken to court. There, he bravely faced the various dilemmas. As a result, he was sentenced to death by firing squad. But she was miraculously saved and continued the missionary work undaunted, with more devotion. She rightfully received the title of Isapostolo.

Saint Thekla fell asleep at the age of 90. She remained in the life and experience of the Church as a great example for women who heroically struggle, but also selflessly offer services to the missionary work of the Church. These are best accomplished by female monasticism.
