The great effort to preserve the icons of the Ecclesiastical Museum of the Church of the Evangelistria of Nafplion continuestranslated

With particular satisfaction we are following the progress of the conservation works of the sacred icons of the Ecclesiastical Museum of the Holy Church of the Evangelistria of Nafplio, an important project for the rescue and promotion of the ecclesiastical and cultural heritage. The vicar of the church, Protopresbyter Fr. Eleftherios Michos, expresses our warm thanks to the Minister of Culture, Mrs. Lina Mendoni, for approving the conservation of the icons, as well as to the competent services of the Ministry of Culture for their contribution to the implementation of this very important project.

The work carried out by the conservators and skilled craftsmen is truly outstanding. With scientific knowledge, patience, perseverance and respect for the historical and religious value of each work, these people give new life to images that bear the signs of time and need special care.

Characteristic examples are the icon depicting the Archangel Michael and the Holy Forerunner, dated 1887, as well as the icon of Saint Panteleimon.
