Nigerian Nicodemus visited the Orthodox Brotherhood of Foreign Missionstranslated

On Wednesday, August 5, 2026, the Metropolitan of Nigeria Mr. Nikodimos visited the offices of the Orthodox Foreign Mission Brotherhood in Thessaloniki for the first time, after his election by the Holy and Holy Synod of the Patriarchate of Alexandria and all Africa to the position of Metropolitan of Nigeria.

During the meeting, His Eminence conveyed the love, appreciation and interest of His Beatitude Patriarch of Alexandria for the multifaceted work of the Brotherhood and the ministry it carries out in the wider region of West Africa.

Metropolitan Nikodimos referred to his experiences from his pastoral visits to his province, noting the long distances and long hours of travel, which in some cases reach up to 15 hours, in order to be close to the most remote communities.

At the same time, he presented the needs and difficulties faced by the local population, including access to clean and drinking water, the maintenance of churches, as well as the need for medicines and the possibility of hospitalizing the sick.
