Porphyrios of Serbia: "The angels come to reveal to us the will of God"translated

A Solemn Divine Liturgy was held on Sunday, July 26, 2026, for the feast of the Synod of the Archangel Gabriel in the Holy Monastery of the same name in Kovili, presided over by the Patriarch of Serbia, His Excellency. Porfiriou.  Collaborating with the Primate of the Orthodox Church in Serbia was the Metropolitan of Batska, Mr. Irenaios, and the Bishops of Valievo, Mr. Hesychios, Mr. Mohaj, Mr. Damaskinos and Mr. Yenopolie, Mr. Nikon.

During his speech immediately after the reading of the holy gospel, His Beatitude Mr. Porphyrios referred to the mission of the Holy Angels underlining that "the angels do not come to us to inform us of their position, of their opinion, to inform us of their will, but they come to reveal to us the will of God".

The Patriarch Mr. Porphyrios also emphasized that "whoever listens to the apostles, whoever listens to the word of the angels, whoever listens to the word of the Church, listens to the Lord himself".

Batskas Irenaios: "No one is an authority on their own" After the Divine Liturgy, the Patriarch Mr. Porphyrios congratulated the brotherhood of the Monastery and all those gathered for the slava (holiday).
