With particular splendor and in an atmosphere of deep sorrow, the Solemn High Priestly Vigil took place on the evening of Monday, July 27, at the Holy Church of the Prophet Helios of Pylaia.

The Holy Vigil was presided over by His Holiness the Metropolitan of Thessaloniki Mr. Filotheos, flanked by priests and deacons of the Holy Metropolis of Thessaloniki and neighboring Metropolises. Abbess Melani of the Assumption Monastery was also present at the holy service.

A special moment of the Vigil was the performance of the rare Procession on the Spreading of the Holy Table, a special ritual of liturgical restoration of the spread of the Holy Table, which is performed extremely rarely. The performance of this particular sequence gave special spiritual and historical significance to this year's celebrations, marking the beginning of a new period for the Holy Temple, which is now entering the second century of its life and ministry.
